Itinerary
Day 01 :
Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Agdez
- Morning pickup from your Marrakech accommodation.
- Cross the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m).
- Visit Kasbah Telouet (exterior, due to earthquake damage) and the scenic Ounila Valley.
- Guided tour of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah and UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Continue through Ouarzazate and over the Tizi-n-Tinfifte Pass to Agdez.
- Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse or kasbah overlooking the Draa Valley
Day 02 :
Agdez – Draa Valley – M’hamid – Erg Chgaga
- Breakfast at your guesthouse.
- Visit Kasbah Tamnougalte, the oldest in the Draa Valley.
- Drive the ancient caravan route along the Draa River, passing Berber villages and palm groves.
- Lunch in Zagora or M’hamid, the gateway to the Sahara.
- Off-road journey (60km) through the desert to reach Erg Chgaga.
- Camel ride at sunset in the dunes, followed by dinner, Berber drumming, and overnight in a luxury desert camp with private tent and bathroom
Day 03 :
Erg Chgaga – Lake Iriki – Taznakht – Marrakech
- Early breakfast and sunrise over the dunes.
- Cross 90km of desert via Lake Iriki, with opportunities to search for fossils.
- Lunch in Foum Zguid or Taznakht, renowned for Berber carpets.
- Return to Marrakech via the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas Mountains.
- Arrival in Marrakech by late afternoon or early evening
